Our Team

Brian Olkowski (he/him)

Artistic Director

Brian has been involved with this amazing theatre company since 2008 when it was known as Pleasanton Playhouse. He saw it transition to Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre (TVRT), and now he’s thrilled to be helming the transition to Tri-Valley Theatre Company (TVTC).  In his time with this wonderful organization, he’s performed, worked backstage on the crew and as an assistant stage manager, operated the spotlight, built and designed sets, tech directed, stage managed, and directed shows.  Theatre is a huge part of his life.  During the day, he teaches elementary school performing arts to TK - 5th Graders.  He also works both backstage and front of house at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore.  In addition to creating theatre, he supports it as well, seeing shows whenever he can.  He currently subscribes to 4 different theatre companies around the SF Bay Area.  He was also the massage therapist for the Broadway Tour of Mamma Mia!  He’s very excited to help keep Performing Arts alive in the Tri-Valley.

Glen Riggs (he/him)

Board President

Glen developed his love for theater with Pleasanton Playhouse (Tri-Valley Rep’s original name) singing with Broadway Chorus and working backstage.  Since then, he has had the opportunity to perform on stages throughout the Bay Area and Las Vegas.  Glen had the honor of directing Broadway Chorus for a few years and is thrilled to step in as Board President for TVTC! He loves the arts and loves giving back to the community.  Ushering TVTC is very exciting time for theatre in the East Bay. Glen is a REALTOR® with Elation Real Estate by day, but has been involved in every aspect of theatre.  He loves having this opportunity to continue to keep theatre alive in the Tri-Valley!

AJ Amstrup (he/him)

Vice President

A.J. has had many roles on and off stage over the last 14 years.  Initially he joined the crew for The Producers at Tri-Valley Rep at the advice of his wife and has come to love the community and the magic of theater.  While he occasionally has had roles, such as Big Jule in Guys and Dolls and a Guard in Jesus Christ Superstar, he enjoys managing the backstage crew with a fun and energetic style. He is proud to take on this new role of Vice President as we transition to TVTC and is looking forward to continue providing fantastic musicals and other future projects.

Rachelle King (she/her)

Treasurer

Rachelle started developing her passion for theater in elementary school as a performer in their annual production of The Wizard of Oz and continued exploring theater as part of her extensive dance training throughout her childhood.  In college she was a member of SJSU’s theater group “Company One.”  It was also in college when she saw an audition notice for 42nd Street with what was then Pleasanton Playhouse, thus beginning her connection with the TVRT legacy.  After stepping away from theater to pursue her degree and career, she has been performing continuously in Colorado and Northern California for the past 12 years, including 5 shows with TVRT since 2019.  When not on stage, she enjoys teaching dance, occasionally choreographs, and supports theaters and arts related organizations as a patron and donor. Professionally, Rachelle has a degree in Corporate Financial Management and has spent her entire career as an accountant, holding an active CPA license in the State of Colorado.  She spent several years in public accounting serving non-profit clients in maintaining their financials.  Rachelle has also served on the boards of 2 other non-profit organizations as their Treasurer.

Michelle Freschi (she/her)

Secretary

Michelle has performed in ten Tri-Valley Rep shows since 2006, which shows her love for this company.  She has also performed with Diablo Light Opera Company and Broadway by the Bay.  She has had some voice training and currently takes ballet and dance fusion classes.  She has been a Broadway San Jose season ticket holder for several years now, and frequents San Francisco to watch musicals.  Clearly Michelle is passionate about musical theatre.  When she is not performing or attending musical performances Michelle is a fourth grade teacher.  She is an active member of the Pleasanton chapter of National Charity League, where she has served on the Board for two years as Recording Secretary, and has held the leadership position of Grade Level Advisor for 5 years.  Michelle also has served on her Kolb Elementary's Leadership team for three years.  Michelle is honored and excited at the prospect of holding the Board position of Secretary as Tri-Valley Rep transitions into its next act and looks forward to helping the company produce more quality shows.
